Townsend came up with a brilliant idea w/ Tommy. I hear the actually stage play is the only way to hear and listen to it. I found this online re: the play. In 1993, Townshend and La Jolla Playhouse theatrical director Des McAnuff wrote and produced a Broadway musical adaptation of Tommy. The production, titled The Whos Tommy, featured a new song by Townshend (I Believe My Own Eyes). Initially, the show received mixed reviews; for example, while The New York Times theatre critic Frank Rich praised it, the same papers music critic Jon Pareles argued that Their (Townshends and McAnuffs) changes turn a blast of spiritual yearning, confusion and rebellion into a pat on the head for nesters and couch potatoes.Later, Townshend partly responded to the criticisms.Ultimately, the production won five Tony Awards that year, including Best Original Score for Townshend. Various touring revivals have met with popular acclaim since. This is the track listing off the LP.... After several years in virtual retirement, Foley moved to Springfield, Missouri in July 1954 after music executive Si Siman convinced him to host Ozark Jubilee on ABC-TV and radio. The deal was made over a bottle of Jack Daniels whiskey at the Andrew Jackson Hotel in Nashville, Tennessee. Foley struggled with alcohol, which according to Maxine Brown, was a well-kept secret among all the entertainers because we loved him so much. In 1955, an official act of the Oklahoma Legislature honored him as the artist who has contributed with humility and reverence more than any other person to perpetuate the music so deeply embedded in the hearts of the American people. That same year, he was credited with discovering 11-year-old Brenda Lee, who became a Jubilee regular. On the October 4, 1956 program, Decca executives presented him with a gold record for Peace in the Valley. The Jubilee ran for nearly six years and further cemented Foleys fame, but was canceled partly because of federal income tax evasion charges pending against him in 1960. His first trial that fall ended with a hung jury, but on April 23, 1961, he was quickly acquitted. From 1954 to 1955, Foley recorded a number of transcriptions for RadiOzark Enterprises in Springfield with his band of Tommy Jackson on fiddle, Grady Martin on guitar, steel guitarist Bud Isaacs, guitarist Jimmie Selph, Bob Moore on bass and Billy Burke on accordion. On April 25, 1956, he appeared on ABCs Masquerade Party as Little Red ...

This movie was directed by Tamil actor, Vijays father, SA Chandrasekhar. Narain who shined in Mysskins Chithram Pesuthadi and later in Anjathey does it again -- fine acting with plenty of realism. Being the ordinary guy with unshaven face and tense look, Narain worked wonders at those crucial scenes. I like the part when he confronts the policeman in charge after the screw-up to kill Ganesh. Another part that he excelled was when at the last few moments before he commits suicide for the girl that he loves. The Plot Ganesh (Narain) is a slum boy who drives an auto to support his family. Bhuvana (Deepa) is the neglected daughter of a rich man and is in search of true love. Bhuvana is drawn to Ganeshs honesty and good heart. As expected, both fell in love and Bhuvana leaves her rich family to be with Ganesh in the slum. Bhuvanas father tries to buy over Ganesh but is turned down. He then disowns Bhuvana and leaves her to be with Ganesh. One day, whilst at the beach, Bhuvana would be hit by a lorry and rushed to the hospital. There the doctors inform Ganesh that Bhuvana need to undergo a heart transplant and the cost of the operation is Rs10 million. Ganesh manages to salvage some part of the money but is still short. He then tries to ask the hospitals MD for some lenience on the payment but instead gets arrested by the police and in rage, the MD orders the discharge of Bhuvana without the operation. Ganesh, having no other choice, locks the hospitals emergency room and ...

Quiet, Please! was a radio fantasy and horror program created by Wyllis Cooper, also known for creating Lights Out. Ernest Chappell was the shows announcer and lead actor. Quiet, Please! debuted June 8, 1947 on the Mutual Broadcasting System, and its last episode was broadcast June 25, 1949, on the ABC. A total of 106 shows were broadcast, with only a very few of them repeats. Earning relatively little notice during its initial run, Quiet, Please! has since been praised as one of the finest efforts of the golden age of American radio drama. Professor Richard J. Hand of the University of Glamorgan, in a detailed critical analysis of the series, argued that Cooper and Chappell created works of astonishing originality he further describes the program as an extraordinary body of work which established Cooper as one of the greatest auteurs of horror radio. Radio historian Ron Lackmann declares that the episodes were exceptionally well written and outstandingly acted while John Dunning describes the show as a potent series bristling with rich imagination. Video Explanation: Special thanks for justine dion for helping out playing the female role for this video Ok so this is our new RSMV with a special guess, Justine Dion. The reason Justine was in this video was because when i first heard this song i fell in love the way it was sang, the lyrics, the calm way it was done and the ending. I loved how it switched from male to female singer which i wanted to keep that pattern reasons why i asked Justine Dion to help if she wished, she loved the idea i would like to say thank you to her for helping us out :) Ok not a lot of effects in this video as you may see apart from changing the mood of the landscapes of the camera, which was my goal i wanted that simplicity and that calm motion of the song, i wanted to capture it using the visuals you watch, in my opinion i think we succeeded. I also like to thank Adam and Fox for double stunting me, and Justine for letting me Double Stunt her :P Yes i tried very ...

He had been walking the streets for a near half hour before he had even reached the street where his house stood. He stepped onto the curb, pacing faster as he rounded the corner and entered the sheltered street. He hated where he lived, it made him feel dead. The street was completely vandalized, and the house he lived in was basically torn to pieces. He was poor though, and that was basically all he could afford at the time, until the next summer at least. He breathed out a deep sigh, and stepped in the cheap house, the floor sounding a loud, creaking one with every step he took. He grabbed hold of the door and jerked it open, stepping himself inside to find all the lights off, and every door of the house closed shut. He shrugged it off and stepped over to the couch where he let his backpack slide off his shoulders and down onto the ground. He hopped onto the couch, reaching for the remote when one of the doors opened loudly, making a slamming noise against the back wall. He watched as the figure appeared, the man stopping himself just under the doorway. Justin let out a small smile, and then positioned himself to the television again. Hey son, the man spoke in a dark, rich tone as he stepped over and seated himself beside him, What are you doing? Dad, he began in a sharp tone, breathing out loud as he could as his father went on as if he hadnt even said anything, Have a nice day at school? Dad, please..... he let his voice trail off as he was cut off by the ...

Barry Sullivan stars in an episode of an old time radio drama series called the unexpected, The Eaves Dropper. Barry Sullivan (August 29, 1912 -- June 6, 1994) was an American movie actor who appeared in over 100 movies from the 1930s to the 1980s. Born in New York City, Sullivan fell into acting when in college playing semi-pro football. During the later Depression years, Sullivan was told that because of his 6 ft 3 in (1.9 m) stature and rugged good looks he could make money simply standing on a Broadway stage. This began a successful career on Broadway, movies and television. One of Sullivans most memorable roles was playing a movie director in The Bad and the Beautiful opposite Kirk Douglas. Sullivan toured the US with Bette Davis in theatrical readings of the poetry of Carl Sandburg and starred opposite her in the 1951 film Payment on Demand. In 1950, Sullivan appeared in the film A Life of Her Own and replaced Vincent Price in the role of Leslie Charteris Simon Templar on the NBC Radio show The Saint. Unfortunately, Sullivan only lasted two episodes before the show was cancelled, and then resurrected five weeks later with Vincent Price once again playing the starring role. In the 1953-1954 television season, Sullivan appeared with other celebrities as a musical judge in ABCs Jukebox Jury.[1] Sullivans first starring television role was a syndicated adaptation of the radio series The Man Called X for Ziv Television in 1956-1957, as secret agent Ken Thurston ...
